Thanks for your votes at Fuel the Fire 2018: Youth Voices of Greater Cincinnati – A TV Talk Show!
Leila Kubesch is a teacher at Norwood Middle School and has been an active volunteer in our community. A past Fuel grantee, Leila is currently seeking funding for her latest public service effort, enabling middle school aged youth to host a talk show with guest members from our community. Her students have expressed that they have no voice and wish to be heard, a very common sentiment amongst kids their age across the country. This program seems to answer that need by connecting students with their community, gaining understanding through dialogue. Leila will be leveraging our free public access TV network hosted at the Norwood High School. Students will develop a monthly theme, list their questions, compose a script about the topic and seek diverse community members, parents and leaders to appear on the show. This nascent talk show is seeking funding for a website where shows will be uploaded after airing, youth hosts will have profiles, the public can contribute ideas or content for the program, and to act as a social media hub for the kids and the community here in greater Cincinnati. Also a few ancillary supplies like a few t-shirts for kids to wear during filming, and art supplies to make thank you notes for their guests. FUEL Cincinnati!
